The first act shows the movie star in 1938, having been branded "box office
poison" after a string of flops. She's intent on landing the role of Scarlet
O'Hara in Gone with the Wind but finds The Philadelphia Story instead. The
second act comes forty five years later as she looks back on her life after
her Oscar winning performance in On Golden Pond.
